This is probably the single most useful site I've seen...yet.
Run by the BBC for ESL teachers...it has a bit of most everything, including a weekly newsletter, information on how to start up a blog, what makes a good blog and a whole lot more including tips and ideas about all the different aspects of teaching English.
The sister site, BBC learning English, has EVERYTHING....even a few podcasts, which I really like for students working on listening skills. Podcasts are similar to an on-line radio program, but they are more specific to a topic, like a magazine, so the students can chose what would interest them, download it to their MP3 or iPod, and listen over and over with the advantage that they know what the topic is and it, hopefully, interests them...making it easier to understand and more motivating while allowing for repetition which the radio does not.
Here is a list of BBC podcasts, This is the CBC site, which includes a weekly podcast for English language learners and a 30 lesson language learning package that could be fantastic it has listening, reading, writing, speaking and grammar components! It is terrifically Canadian as well.
There's tons more out there, but that's a start.
Just sayin'
Cheers!
Christine
